Thanks to all the volunteers who made this another successful festival for the club!

Orpington RFC held yet another successful beer festival over the bank holiday weekend. The event has now been running for over 20 years and thanks, as always, must go to the volunteers who made this event possible.

There was a superb selection of beers and ciders on offer (the IPA Gold proving by far and away the most popular):

  • Morland Original
  • Greene King IPA Gold
  • Belhaven Wembley 67
  • Old Speckled Hen
  • Olde Trip
  • London Glory
  • St Edmund's
  • Old Hoppy Hen
  • Sir Titus
  • Biddenden
  • Old Rosie

Thank you to the following event sponsors and President Chris Jones for drumming up so much support at short notice.

  • Friends of Hoblingwell
  • B & B Electricals, Kent (Mark and Gary Booth)
  • Robert Elliot Wealth Management - Proud sponsors of Charlton Park RFC
  • Hawksmoor Investment Management
  • Aegon
  • The Holistic Place (Sam Sturley-Jones)
  • Tall Order Entertainments (Paul Clare)
  • Hunter Security (Terry Cook)
  • Bandbox Logos (Andy Gibson)
  • JT Electricals (Joe Tang)
  • M Christmas Diamond Setters (Sid Christmas)
  • Paul Britton
  • Paul Sheffield
  • Tim Spear
  • Dominic Clare
  • Harry Day / Ant Percy

Thank you to Keith, Jack and the bar staff for their hard work leading up to the weekend and patience as the weekend went on. Thanks to Jason, Clare and Wendy for keeping everyone fed.

Thanks to Haydn, Declan and Matt for setting up the ale bar and chilling equipment provided by Greene King and to Karen and Shutty for putting in long shifts behind the jump during a busy Saturday.

Thanks to the players from Old Dunstonians, Park House, Croydon, Brockleians and Orpington who took part in an enjoyable and occasionally very skilful tournament (at least until the beer started to catch up with some of the early adopters). For the record, Dunstonians came back to beat Park House 10-7 to defend their title in what turned out to be the decisive match. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the day and will be keen to return next year.
